Cable Cleat RFQ Checklist for Wind Turbine Projects

A cable cleat RFQ should give enough engineering data to size the body, verify short-circuit restraint and select the correct material.

Best-fit use

Wind turbine tower, transition-piece, J-tube and offshore cable-cleat procurement.

RFQ data to prepare

  • Cable OD and cable count
  • Trefoil or flat formation
  • Peak/RMS short-circuit current
  • Support spacing and mounting type
  • Material, liner and document requirements

Why a product name is not enough

Cable cleats are restraint components. The supplier must know cable OD, fault current and spacing to propose a meaningful part.

Material selection

SS316 is usually the conservative offshore option. Aluminum can be suitable where weight and installation speed matter.

Documents

Ask for drawings, material statements, fastener grades and any available IEC 61914 basis before purchase order release.
